Tesla’s paint issues are no secret, which is why they created their “All Weather Protection Kit” for the Model 3, which includes mud flaps and protective film for the rocker panels. This DIY kit is better than nothing, but for those of you who see the issue as being larger than chips on the very bottom of your car, there is a better way.

The brand aside, vehicles in general are costly, and maintenance can add up quickly with improper care.  Let’s take the most recent class action lawsuit against Tesla, for example—Bellerose found paint issues after his first winter with his Tesla Model 3.  He was quoted over $4700 to fix the bottom rocker panels on his vehicle.  Re-painting takes work!  This is also an unpredictable cost, which nowadays is hard to swallow.
